Organization

Zion City Record Labels, Inc. (ZCRL) was formed to capitalize on the potential huge benefits of establishing a professional reputable recording company in the Madison/Midwest area. This independent recording label forms to communicate through the expression of music and/or words the fundamental purpose of the company which is to educate, enlighten and effect. ZCRL is composed of two (2) recording labels, EXTERIORITY RECORDS and INTERIORITY RECORDS, hence referred to as Zion City Record Labels (ZCRL). Each label has a specific mission and target group. Both labels share the same underlining factor of recording positive-inspirational-gospel music. The difference, however, is in the kinds of artists hired, style of music recorded, and the purpose of/for the specific product(s) produced.

In accordance with ZCRL and it’s CORE VALUES STATEMENT the following labels were created and designed for specific purposes.

ZCRL/Exteriority Records

Dubbed the label for non church audiences, Exteriority Records produces, what we refer to as Rhythm & Gospel (R&G) or Inspirational Soul, Urban, Contemporary Jazz, Love Ballads (Wedding Songs), and Instrumentals. All of which is composed and produced in a manner that inspires.

Recordings are designed to appeal to younger, more affluent audiences ages 12-34. Targets include both male and female genders with added emphasis on males ages 12-17, and females ages 15-34. Economic status for former group is lower to working class income families and single homes, African Americans in inner-city schools, and community center environments. Economic status for the latter group is working middle to upper class cross/multi-ethnic cultures in colleges, social groups, and professional careers.

ZCRL/Interiority Records

Dubbed as the label for active church audiences, Interiority Records produces Traditional and Contemporary versions of Gospel, Christian, Country and Motivational Messages and Spoken Word.

This label produces recordings that appeal to young adults to older, more seasoned adults ages 25 - up including both genders with emphasis on the female. Economic status is lower to middle class income families; targeting mostly African American cultures in churches and/or with strong family values.
